It’s no secret that I adore the use of real film. For years it was fun to experiment but this year, I am incorporating it into my wedding work. I decided to travel to the Hybrid Co in Charleston this February and join editorial workshops in order to further practice my craft. Enjoy the painterly quality that the Contax 645 brings to photos. All of what you see in the post was shot on film.
Why Use Real Film?
Unlike digital images, film is captured on physical rolls that get mailed to a professional lab. The rolls are developed and then scanned, and the digital files are returned to us and incorporated into your final gallery. Since film cannot be previewed instantly, it has an ephemeral and often serendipitous quality. Getting the scans back feels a bit like Christmas morning!
