Their wedding began with everyone getting ready at the hotel. They had their first look on the rotunda overlooking the harbor and the street below. After a few photos under the arch, they began their ceremony around the beautiful sofreh. Persian ceremonies are a lot more interactive than western ones, where the audience cheers at different points, loved ones bring gifts to the table and the women closest to them rub sugar cones together over a cloth of unity to symbolize the sweetness of their marriage.
Their wedding day began with some threatening forecasts of rain. It was disappointing to think that we wouldn't be able to go outside and take advantage of the beautiful grounds. Thankfully the rain finally stopped and 5 minutes before the ceremony began and they chose to move from the tent to the lawn. It was a real team effort with the kitchen staff and coordinators rearranging the chairs and me and Jovan moving the flowers. Jovan and I even doubled as flower girls spreading the petals moments before they walked down the aisle! It was totally worth it to make Stephanie and Billy's dream come true of getting married looking over the allée of the Crane Estate!
Amber and Ryan are from Colorado and decided that they wanted to elope in a special place they had never been to - Cape Cod. What better spot than the Captain's Manor Inn in Falmouth! When I first arrived, the weather had been threatening rain all day and there were a few sprinkles here and there. Thankfully the rain kept at bay and they were able to have their ceremony under the gazebo. It was so touching as they reach their vows to one another, holding back tears. Afterwards they were greeted with cake, champagne and a personalized watercolor of the inn. They are so happy and so in love!
Katie and Eric are always up for adventure. When I suggested they go in the water during their sunset engagement session, they did it with no hesitation. When we suggested they climb up a stone rock face to get an epic drone shot, they went for it. Finally when we suggest Katie goes into the water again in her wedding dress, she went straight in. Thank you guys for being up for anything. You guys are dream clients!
When Tom first saw Kendra, she was stepping out of an Uber in Union square. That moment changed the course of both of their lives forever. Tom wanted to surprise Kendra by asking her to marry him in the spot where it all began. After having dinner in Davis Square, Kendra thought that they were meeting a friend for drinks at Backbar in Union. As they walked in the square, Tom got down on one knee and proposed. Immediately Kendra was so overcome with emotions that she dropped to her knees crying tears of joy saying "yes".
Emily and Casey have the kind of love that is infectious. When they look at each other and smile, you can't help but smile along with them. Their wedding day began getting ready in Boston, Emily and the Langham Hotel and Casey back at their apartment. The first look was at Post Office Square underneath the trellis. Casey's expression was one of pure joy as Emily proudly showed off her flowy dress and gorgeous shoes. Everyone looked simply stunning.
Sin and Jess first met through mutual friends at a BBQ. That first day they didn't even like each other! That soon changed as they eventually began dating and fell in love. Sin wanted to propose in a special way. They booked a trip to Hawaii but something came up and Jess wanted to cancel. Sin was adamant about going and then proposed at sunset after a special dinner.
Joe and Audrey met while studying at Colgate University. Joe was Audrey's Economics TA and a year ahead of her. They hit it off right away and began dating a few months later. They made it through several periods of long distance from New York to Maine to Shanghai until eventually both settling down in Boston. They decided on a unique Boston venue right in the heart of the harbor. Thompson Island is a short ferry ride away from downtown and is so rich with history and beauty!
This was our first experience seeing a Persian wedding ceremony and it was truly unforgettable. The wedding table, or Sofreh Aghd, was beautifully displayed with many items to symbolize different elements of the couple's new life together. A cloth of unity was held over their heads during the ceremony and sugar cones were rubbed together showering their marriage with sweetness. After the exchange of rings, they also dipped their pinky fingers in honey and fed each other to symbolize the sweetness of their marriage. Dancers blessed their union at the conclusion of the ceremony and everyone cheered their congrats!
This is what happens when your clients just happen to moonlight as models. They won't admit it but we know the truth. The lighting was incredible this warm afternoon as Tammie and Levan took a romantic stroll through the columns at Larz Anderson Park. What a perfect couple! We are so excited to be shooting their wedding taking place later this year at the Villa.
The story of how Aliza and Zach met each other sounds like the beginning of a Jewish comedy- on Christmas Eve at a Chinese restaurant. After exchanging stories all night, their first official date was set for the next evening, what else but a movie on Christmas day! Their wedding day began with them each getting ready apart in Tupper Manor in Beverly. Their first look took place during the bedeken ceremony. Zach and the guys danced over to her and placed the veil over her head in preparation for the ceremony.
Nicole and David have known each other for over 10 years. In that time, they have had so many wonderful adventures together, especially when traveling the world. The wedding was planned by Nicole and each and every detail was carefully thought out. They wanted a romantic, garden party style wedding surrounded by their closest friends and family. The day felt both glamorous and intimate in such a beautiful setting.
What do you get when you combine the perfect couple, the perfect dog and the perfect light? THESE PHOTOS! Love these guys, I've been holding off on posting this session because I wanted to do it justice. I cannot wait for their wedding in August!
Lindsay and Tim have known each other for 11 years, all the way since High School! Their story begins "one time at band camp" when they were taking a trip to Virginia with the high school marching band. They began dating and stayed together all throughout college. Having a long distance relationship made them stronger as a couple and the rest, as they say, is history!
What a sweet couple! We began at the Boston Public garden to catch the last of the flowering trees. From there we took a walk through Beacon Hill and the iconic Acorn Street. We finally ended at the esplanade so they could dip their toes into the Charles River at sunset.
These guys will soon tie the knot on Thompson Island and I for one cannot wait for their fun and relaxed affair out in the middle of Boston Harbor. Here's to hoping to see some epic fireworks displays and bonfires on July 4th weekend!
Kyuwon and Cliff originally met at Harvard, where they were studying together at the very beginning of college. The two quickly became inseparable and it only makes sense that they would get married right in Harvard Square where it all began. They chose the Sinclair, an amazing concert venue that you wouldn't normally associate with weddings. That makes it all the better as this unique venue gave their day excitement and let's be real, getting married on a rock stage is just plain awesome!
Amy and Marcelo are a wonderful couple and so deeply in love. When we first met them they told us how they originally met at the local Cambridge spot, Ryles Jazz Club, and how important music and dancing is to their lives. Needless to say, their first dance was incredible! There was also a slideshow where Marcelo surprised Amy with never before seen video footage of their first date from years ago.
We took full advantage of the golden light for this beautiful engagement session! Parisa and Farid met me at Larz Anderson Park for a sunset session around the gorgeous landscape. These two are getting married this summer at the Boston Harbor Hotel and I for one cannot wait for the day to come. They rocked their engagement session and I know they will do the same for their wedding day!
Anita and Cho had a big beautiful wedding at the Fairmont on a gorgeous spring day. They began the day with hilarious door games followed by a traditional tea ceremony decked with gold. Anita then changed into a white dress before we took a stroll through Copley.
As we made our way to the Garden, it was a quintessential Boston scene with the little leaves dotting overhead and cherry blossoms floated on the air along Commonwealth Avenue. With weeks of rain, the sun gave way for these two.
A harp played in the Oval Room of the Fairmont as guests took their seats for their ceremony. If you've ever walked through it's ornate interior, rich with architectural details at every turn, it was an absolute pleasure to capture their day against this backdrop. In the Grand Ballroom, the dinner was perfectly set.
Knowing Cho, personally, and a great deal of his friends from Newton days, we knew they'd get the party started right and dance late into the night. We wish them many years of lasting memories.
Emily and Mark took their adorable dog Kupo on a walk around Boston Common on a beautiful spring day. The cherry blossoms were in full bloom and the sun finally broke through the clouds. We then walked to Beacon hill to wander around the brownstones and acorn street. Finally we took in the sunset at the Esplanade. We can't wait to shoot their beautiful Bermuda wedding next March!
