Vanessa had a vision and she spent countless hours putting together all the finishing touches to bring that dream to reality. The only Saturday in May that was available at Connemara House Farm happened to be, Saturday May 7th, Vanessa's favorite day of the year! The Kentucky Derby always falls on the first Saturday in May so it was perfect timing. All the guests arrived dressed in bright colors and fun hats. That set the stage for an amazingly fun experience.

We began photographing in the house. Vanessa had a sweet first look with her dad before going outside to see Adam. The cherry blossoms were in full bloom and we couldn’t resist setting the stage for them to see each other under the pink flowers. Adam cried seeing Vanessa walk towards him - she was not expecting it and he uncharacteristically cried many times throughout the day! We walked over to the apple orchard before heading in as guests were arriving.

The ceremony was officiated by Adam’s sister and there were more tears as Vanessa walked down the aisle. Afterwards a horse drawn carriage arrived for the perfect photo opp! I loved all the guest outfits and it was a joy being able to capture the bright and fun hats. During the reception we actually watched the Derby and the surprising upset! At the end of our night, there was the most amazing cotton candy sunset. Such a unique and magical wedding day!

HOW THEY MET

Vanessa & Adam met right before the world shut down with covid. Vanessa is a professional singer and was at her gig, singing & hosting karaoke when Adam walked in with a couple of buddies. He came right up to her and flirtatiously asked her if she could lower the music so he could talk to her. After a few dates and one Keith Urban concert, Vanessa was convinced he was it for her.

HOW THEY GOT ENGAGED

Adam caught Vanessa so off guard. He coordinated all of their friends & family to come out to one of Vanessa's music gigs where she was singing & hosting Karaoke at the Stones Kitchen in Stoneham, MA. LIVE music had just opened back up in restaurants so Vanessa wasn't surprised that there was an absurd amount of family & friends who came to this particular event. Adam had contacted a dear music colleague of Vanessa's, named Richie Willis and asked if he would get up and sing a karaoke song... "With this Ring" by the Temptations. Vanessa didn't think much of it, until when Richie began singing this particular song, Adam got down on one knee in front of everyone. Needless to say, Vanessa collapsed into Adam's arms with a YES! Vanessa says, "I waited 36 years to meet him."
