Election Day, 2012 marked the first pre-session for a graduate study abroad intensive in Spain and Morocco. Alyssa and Eric had never met, graduating 4 years apart in undergrad. After some small talk and political banter, they made a friendly wager on the results of the election. Alyssa, the closeted Democrat, lost the bet and owed Eric a vodka y limon once in Spain.
Food has always had a special place in Eric and Alyssa's relationship. No. 9 Park is the flagship restaurant of the Barbara Lynch Gruppo and one of our favorites. Eric coordinated a kitchen tour with their staff, telling Alyssa that he bumped into their favorite bartender on the street and he recommended we come in prior to dinner service. After completing the tour, Alyssa left the kitchen to find a table set for ten, a Tiffany bag, and roses. Confused (and surprised!), Alyssa turned around to find Eric on one knee. He asked, she answered, and their families came out of their hiding places with cheers. These two have traveled so many places together and shared so many stories.
Alyssa and Eric’s wedding day was filled with tons of excitement to say the least! Boston was a zoo outside with tons of tourists, protests and a movie being filmed in town. That didn’t stop us from being able to get some beautiful portraits in the public gardens. When we arrived back to the Ritz, they went into their sweet ceremony. Even though Eric had seen Alyssa before she walked down the aisle, he still was full of emotion as she entered the ceremony. After a fun cocktail hour chatting with all their friends, everyone filed into the beautifully decorated reception hall. They went into their first dance and the reception fun began. We hope the two of them have a blast in Japan on their honeymoon!
