As a Newport wedding photographer, I was honored to capture the special day of Jack and Marisa at the Newport Harbor Island Resort. From the moment I arrived, it was clear that Marisa put a lot of thought and care into every detail of their wedding. The theme of their day was a celebration of their life together, and they chose to highlight their love for the beautiful city of Newport and their current home in Napa Valley.

But this day was even more special because it marked the beginning of a new chapter in their love story. Jack and Marisa met while attending Salve Regina College and it was only fitting that they had their first look at this special place. The emotion on their faces as they saw each other for the first time on their wedding day was truly heartwarming.

The décor was filled with rich, burgundy and cabernet hues, paying tribute to their love of wine. Mini bottles of Domaine Chandon Brut Rosé served as both escort cards and favors for their guests, and the couple even surprised everyone with a Champagne tower during cocktail hour. It was such a unique and elegant touch that really set the tone for the rest of the night.

HOW THEY MET

Marisa and Jack first met studying at Salve Regina University in Newport, Rhode Island. After quickly discovering a mutual love of food, beaches, and everything Newport has to offer, it wasn’t long before they made plans to experience it all together. As the summer came to an end and they were back home, packing up for their senior year of college, Jack asked Marissa on their first big date to New York City. They spent the whole day together exploring the city, never running out of words to say. Their first kiss came at the end of the date when Jack pulled Marisa in as she was running to catch her train in Grand Central. It was like a scene from a movie!

Seven years later, they’ve traveled across the U.S. and Europe together, moved to Napa Valley to pursue Marisa’s career in wine, and welcomed two mischievous but adorable rescue cats to their family.

Their ceremony was held on the beach at the Newport Harbor Island Resort, where they exchanged vows in front of a stunning floral arch surrounded by their closest family and friends. After the ceremony, we took a stroll around the resort for some beautiful portrait shots. The resort's stunning waterfront views provided the perfect backdrop for the newlyweds.

The reception was held in a beautiful ballroom at the resort, where guests were treated to a delicious dinner and dancing under the stars. Jack and Marisa's love for each other was evident in the way they looked at each other and the way they danced together. It was such a pleasure to capture all of these special moments on film.
