Hannah & Brendan’s Cape Cod wedding was so picturesque and every minute was filled with action in the best way possible. The day was full of energy, movement and so much beauty that it felt effortless. Wychmere Beach Club’s Dune venue was the perfect backdrop for Hannah, who was the picture of an iconic bride: radiant, joyful and completely natural in front of the camera. The day was also full of tender family moments and watching them with their parents, siblings and grandparents was such a privilege to document. One of my favorite parts came during the reception, when Hannah slipped into a reception outfit. They got ice cream from the local Sundae School then we grabbed some vibe shots on the bar.
HOW THEY MET
Brendan and Hannah met on the ski racing team during their freshman year at UMass Amherst. It was January 1st, 2016, the day after Brendan’s 19th birthday, when they first introduced themselves over lunch at their very first team training. It’s hard to believe that nearly ten years have passed since that day, and that they’ve grown together through so many seasons and chapters of life.
They were friends for two years before one thing naturally led to another and their relationship began. Their love is deeply rooted in friendship, adventure, nature, and family. Over the years, they’ve pushed each other to grow, to dream big, and to become the best versions of themselves.
They share a love for traveling, skiing, hiking, cooking, and spending time with their friends and families. In the winter, you’ll find them on the slopes in Maine or Vermont, and in the summer, they’re soaking up the sun at the beach in Newburyport or Cape Cod.
HOW THEY GOT ENGAGED
The Charlestown Navy Yard has always been one of Brendan and Hannah’s favorite spots in Boston. It’s where they love to walk, read, and enjoy lunch together while taking in their favorite view of the city skyline. It’s a place that has always felt peaceful and meaningful to them, which made it the perfect setting for such a special moment.
Brendan and Hannah got engaged on December 21st, 2024, in the Charlestown Navy Yard. It was the winter solstice and one of the coldest days of the year, but nothing could take away from the warmth and excitement of that evening. Friends and family were hidden nearby, ready to join in on the celebration as soon as Brendan popped the question.
Brendan had planned every detail. He invited Hannah’s sister, Abby, and her boyfriend, Jack, into Boston for the weekend. That afternoon, Hannah and Abby spent time together getting ready to “go to dinner” with friends. They stopped in the North End for a sweet treat from Bova’s, their favorite bakery, before making their way to the Navy Yard, where they were supposed to meet everyone. As the sun set, Brendan got down on one knee and asked Hannah to marry him while overlooking the Boston skyline.
Moments later, their families came out from their hiding spots to surprise them, and the group celebrated together in the snow. From there, Brendan had arranged for all of their closest friends to meet at Monument, one of their favorite bars in Charlestown, to continue the celebration. The night ended perfectly with everyone back at their apartment, reminiscing and toasting to the newly engaged couple.
The next day, both of their families gathered again at Hannah’s grandparents’ house to celebrate with extended family, a joyful continuation of a weekend they’ll never forget.
THE PLANNING PROCESS
Hannah and Brendan envisioned their wedding as an inviting, creative, and timeless celebration that paid tribute to the charm of Cape Cod. Wychmere’s Dune venue as their backdrop, they had the perfect canvas to bring that vision to life. Every detail was thoughtfully curated to reflect the natural beauty of the Cape, with its soft coastal tones, organic textures, and effortless elegance.
Hannah was the creative force behind the entire planning process. She designed each element with intention, from the save the dates, matchbooks, menus, and signage to the escort cards, invitations, and wedding website. With Brendan and her mother Lena by her side, nearly all of the décor was handcrafted and assembled with care. Together, they poured their hearts into creating a warm and memorable experience for their guests.
Family and heritage were at the heart of every decision. Custom logos and stationery added a personal touch, while the couple’s family members built the chuppah by hand. Having Hannah’s uncle officiate the ceremony made the day even more meaningful, and a special moment was shared as everyone joined in wishing Hannah’s grandfather a happy 90th birthday.
Their wedding beautifully blended Jewish, Greek, and Irish Catholic traditions, a reflection of their shared values and backgrounds. As the night unfolded, guests were surprised with a lively saxophone performance that brought everyone to the dance floor and set the tone for an unforgettable evening. The result was a celebration that felt deeply personal, full of love, and filled with joy from start to finish.
