We are excited to announce that Brina Dillon and Taha Bakhtiyar’s wedding got published in the Boston Globe!
The night before the wedding, Brina and Taha hosted a warm and welcoming rehearsal dinner that brought together elements from both of their backgrounds. They wore traditional Pakistani outfits custom-made by Taha’s mother, a beautiful nod to his heritage. Guests enjoyed a relaxed meal featuring classic New England favorites like fish and chips, creating a laid-back atmosphere before the formal celebration the next day. It was the perfect kickoff to a weekend full of love, family, and culture.
Brina met Taha in Boston’s West End back in 2021. It was one of those easygoing evenings—friends, laughter, a few too many snacks, and a stack of board games no one really knew how to play. She was a project manager from Maine with a calm, grounded vibe. He’d just come back from London, sharp-witted and full of that Karachi hustle. The rest is history.
Their upbringings were different. Brina brought that quiet New England steadiness. Taha, by contrast, carried the quick tempo of a life lived across continents. But it worked. They connected on the things that matter—shared values, similar life goals, and an ease around each other’s families. Years later, on a trip to the Bahamas, Taha pulled off a bold move: he proposed. Brina with a hidden photographer to catpure the moment.
On April 5, 2025, they brought their story full circle with a wedding back in Boston at the Fairmont Copley Plaza. The night before the ceremony, they wore traditional Pakistani attire lovingly designed by Taha’s mother, while guests enjoyed a spread of New England comfort food. The wedding day itself was full of small, intentional choices: a raw bar serving oysters and poke, a dinner that moved from biryani to lobster rolls without missing a beat. Later, the dance floor buzzed with Bollywood tracks, old-school wedding jams, and a midnight curry station that kept the party going long after the cake was cut.
They planned every detail themselves, weaving both families and cultures into something deeply personal. Nothing felt forced or overly polished. Just them—real, warm, and exactly how they wanted it.
